I ask that you provide at least 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment, otherwise, you may be charged the entire cost of the session. In keeping with this policy, if I need to cancel with less than 24-hour notice, you will receive a credit for the missed session.
I accept cash, check, and Venmo.
I do not bill insurance directly; however, I can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
It depends. The specific benefits you experience will depend on the type of massage and your individual needs. Generally speaking, however, massage therapy offers a wide range of benefits, including stress reduction, pain relief, improved circulation, increased flexibility, reduced muscle tension, enhanced relaxation, and improved sleep.
If you're unsure which type of massage is right for you, we can talk about your specific needs, concerns, and goals to determine the most appropriate treatment. You can also review the descriptions of the techniques and services that I offer here in the website.
Intake/assessment
During your first massage, we will spend a little time talking about your health history, any specific concerns, and what you would like to accomplish. Occasionally, I will perform some assessments (ROM, strength testing) to determine the best treatment for you.
The massage
Once we're ready to start, I will leave the room while you undress to your comfort level and lie on the massage table, covered with a sheet. After the massage, I will leave the room, and you'll have a few minutes to relax before getting dressed.
No, you undress to your level of comfort. Most people remove their clothing, but you can leave on your undergarments and/or shorts. You will always be draped with a sheet to ensure your privacy and modesty. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
While some massage techniques, such as trigger point therapy, may involve some discomfort, the overall experience should not be painful. Keep in mind, that you know how your body feels far better than I do. Let me know how you're feeling throughout the session, and I will always adjust to ensure your comfort.
If you are new to massage, it is not uncommon to experience some soreness, particularly after a deep tissue massage or trigger point therapy. This is normal, and the soreness generally fades within a day.
